Facts On Garbage Pollution In Mombasa

  • About 500 to 600 metric tons of garbage is generated in the town.
  • Mombasa has only about 12 garbage collector trucks when it requires about 20 in order for it to have the ability to collect the garbage generated daily, by the town.
  • The mombasa municipal council lacks the expertise on ways on which to collect garbage around the town.

  • Council workers burn in garbage Kibarani, which causes air pollution and makes it inconvenient for motorists, commuters, and tourists coming out from the Moi International Airport.
