Solutions to Garbage Pollution- Ideas






  • We could organize a beach clean-up every week to clean up the beaches in the Coast.


  • We could write to the Municipal council of Mombasa to request them to stop burning garbage in public environments like Bombululu and Kibarani, but areas where there are is less public.

  • We could organize cards for donations to buy more bins, and slowly small trucks to transport the garbage from point A-B.

The Dangers Of Garbage Pollution

  • The air caused when garbage is burnt could be very irritating to many people's health.
  • When you burn garbage it produces toxic gas.
The toxic gases produced when burning garbage include the following:
  • nitrogen oxide
  • sulphur dioxide
  • Volatile organic chemicals and others.

Facts On Garbage Pollution In Mombasa

  • About 500 to 600 metric tons of garbage is generated in the town.
  • Mombasa has only about 12 garbage collector trucks when it requires about 20 in order for it to have the ability to collect the garbage generated daily, by the town.
